Creamy Sesame Tahini & Ginger Sauce

Homemade spice blends and sauces that pack a LOT of flavor and health benefits WITHOUT adding processed oils, sugar, or flavoring. They can literally "spice up" your meals and create interest.


This sauce was inspired by my Dad, whole LOVES cold peanut noodles, and my MOM, who loves ginger, garlic, and just about anything with onions.


Here are a few reasons why I love it.


  • Apple cider vinegar may have the ability to aid in digestion, joint pain, skin blemishes, sinus problems, among so many other self reported benefits. When purchase organic with the mother, it can provide dietary probiotic content.

  • Sesame tahini is pureed sesame seeds. Tahini has quality fat, protein, and minerals that have been shown to lower blood pressure, prevent cancer, help burn fat, and balance hormones!

  • Garlic and onions are part of the ALLIUM family of plants. These items can lower inflammation and have been shown to have some cancer fighting properties.

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups of tahini

  • 1 cups water (an more as needed)

  • 1/3 cup coconut aminos - this is a gluten free, soy free swap for soy sauce

  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar

  • 3 cloves garlic

  • 2 small shallots or 1/4 cup chopped minced real sweet onion

  • 3 tbsp grated fresh ginger (you can substitute in 1 tbsp dried ginger)

  • 2 tbsp toasted sesame oil

  • Additional Sesame seeds, scallions, red pepper flakes to garnish if desired

Directions:

  • Mix all the ingredient in a blender or food processor. It's as easy as that!!

  • If its too thick, add water by the tbsp until sauce becomes smooth and creamy.

  • Serve with veggies, chicken, or noodles.

  • Store in refrigerator for up to 7 days. You can also freeze in reusable bags for use when you are ready. Freeze for up to 3 months.
